Privacy
This site sets no cookies, asks for nothing and has nothing to log in to. What little it does collect is set out below, in plain terms.
Who is responsible

What this site does not do
There are no forms, no comments, no accounts, no newsletter and no advertising. Nothing you do here is tied to you as an individual, and there is no profile of you anywhere in it.
Analytics, without cookies
The site uses Google Analytics 4 to count how many people read it. It is configured to store nothing on your device: consent mode is set to denied, cookie storage is switched off, and IP addresses are truncated before they are recorded.
That yields the page you viewed, roughly which country you were in, what referred you and what kind of browser you used — never a name, and never a thread joining one visit to the next. The honest cost of that choice: if you come back tomorrow, you are counted as a new reader. Accurate numbers are worth less than not following you around.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Netlify, which serves the pages and keeps ordinary server logs — including IP addresses — for a short period to run the service and defend it against abuse. That is a normal part of putting anything on the web, and applies to every site you visit.
Fonts
The typefaces are served by Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser requests them from Google, and your IP address is visible to Google in the course of that request. No cookie is set by it. Worth knowing, since it is the one third party this site talks to that it does not strictly need.
What is kept on your device
One thing: if you use the light/dark switch in the footer, your choice is saved in your browser under the key theme. It never leaves your device and it is not sent anywhere. Clearing your browser storage removes it.
If you write to me
The email address in the footer is an ordinary mailbox. If you use it, your message and address are held for as long as it takes to deal with what you wrote about, and for any record that needs keeping afterwards. It is not added to any list.
Legal basis and where data goes
Aggregate audience measurement and secure operation of the site rest on legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Because no information is stored on or read from your device for analytics, the consent requirement in the ePrivacy rules is not triggered — which is why you are not being asked to dismiss a banner.
Google and Netlify are US companies and may process this data outside the EEA, under the safeguards in Chapter V of the GDPR.
Your rights
You have the right to ask what is held about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable form. Given how little there is, the answer is usually "nothing that identifies you" — but ask, and you will get a straight answer.
Write to roberto@roberto.jp. You may also complain to the supervisory authority where you live. The controller is established in Malta, so the Office of the Information and Data Protection Commissioner (IDPC) is the other route.
Changes
If what the site collects changes, this page changes with it, and the date below moves.
